We got the idea of introducing Matador into this part of the world when watching our son playing with this great toy, specially brought in from Austria. That was in 2000, but it was only in April 2012 that we really got going.
In the first half of 2013 we set up a warehouse and distribution centre in Australia to facilitate timely and cost effective delivery to our Australian customers.
Hans Weichselbaum was born and grew up in Vienna, Austria. He studied chemistry at the University in Vienna and then went to Johannesburg, South Africa to work in research.
After arriving in Auckland, New Zealand in 1996, Hans worked in management consulting, digital imaging and in chemistry. He finished a Masters Degree in philosophy at Massey University. Hans is passionate about education, especially in the fields of natural sciences.
Needless to say, he was an avid Matador fan in his youth.
Linda Weichselbaum was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. After arriving in New Zealand she completed a Diploma and a Batchelor Degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked in kindergartens and early chilhood education centres for many years and is currently teacher in a special school on Auckland's North Shore. Linda is passionate in her work with young children.
Hans and Linda have one son Paul who studied biology. Paul must have been one of the very few privileged Kiwis to grow up with Matador.
